This was my first trip after landing in Bangalore. It was an sudden trip by rams and myself.
Since we were only two people we decided to take the TNSTC buses to the falls.

We boarded the bus at Silk Board Junction to Hosur since we couldn't get any direct bus to Dharmapuri. We landed up at hosur and since it was weekend all the buses bound to dharmapuri were crowded . It was a standing journey till Dharmapuri.

We had our breakfast @ dharmapuri and took a bus to the Hokenakal falls. We reached the falls at around 11.30 . So many people surrounded us asking for the coracle rides. One good guy took us around for Rs 400 and also did some good oil massage .

He showed some shooting spots (Films like Roja , Indian etc ) were shot here. There were people who were catching the fish and frying it then and there and selling it . Rams had a sort of good Lunch .

The falls are formed according to the level of the water in the Cauvery river and also opening of the flood gates at the dam in Mysore. our captain (the coracle rider ) told us that
We were lucky because the flood gates were opened on the previous day . We saw around 10 - 12 falls in single place.

Then we went for oil massage it was a great massage for a budget of around 80 rs (20 rs for oil).Took bath in one of the small falls .Returned back to the base .

The option for a veggie food in hokenkal is very limited . We found a small hotel couldn't hav much so purchased biscuits for our way back to bangalore. We took a bus back to bangalore @ 6.30 from dharmapuri and reached bangalore @ 10.30

Vk had some dinner parcelled and I had the dinner and went to bed for a long sleep

This is a great place for a one day visit from Bangalore
