street in jaipurstreet in jaipurstreet in jaipur

always difficult to take pictures on the streets of rhajastan as noone stops for even a second, so you have to pick your vantage point carefully in order to not be knocked over!!
Went to jaipur last year for a few days, so saw most of the sights then...
Booked our first deluxe bus tickets to Ajmer for tommorow. Spent the day in Jaipur avoiding children who were trying to pick pocket us and rickshaw wallahs who were tryng to send us the wrong way! We went to he city palace museum - which was quite expensive for india Rs 200 each; but we spent 2 hours there. We attempted to go in the Junega art gallery and modern art gallery
*the modern art gallery looked closed - no westerner in sight and everyone staring at us, so we did not bother
*Junega art gallery was more like a shop ,so we didn't bother!
Went back to the hotel and sat in the owners sitting room to write an e-mail! He told us that his grandfather fought for the british army and was awarded and OBE. Transferred all our hotmail addresses to yahoo as hotmail has been far too slow. Sent an e-mail to the family. Ate in the hotel; had egg curry which was very very good and had our first beer for 7 days! Got chatting to an itallian lad (Fabio)who lives near us in england!!
