Mumbai Airport

Well I was just relaxing when Milly asks me about the Blog. Help I had forgotten, last week was after all very busy with the HMC tender and our new friends from Yankee Doodle Land being in town. None of this really helped by a rather good night out on Wednesday!

No lap top and no real internet access so what to do. Haha he thinks my Blackberry. So here I am a few minutes later typing madly on the Blackberry with Sol reading her book.

We were picked up by Emirates at 6;50 and whizzed to the Airport. Checked in at the old terminal but saw our gate was in the new.

All this only took 35 minutes from when we left the house.

So we walked through to Terminal 3 it is amazing vast and very nicely done. Huge shopping area which I rushed Solly through as quickly as possible past all the usual places and a really good looking fine wine store. Up to the Emirates Business Lounge which is way and ahead the best I have ever been in. Massive and very well laid out.

Then better news we were upgraded to First Class!

Nice glass of Champagne and then a smooth flight which landed a little late.

No probs in Immigration nor collecting our luggage. Mumbai Airport is interesting hasn't changed for ever, slum dwellers right on the perimetre fence and very scruffy makes Heathrow look smart.

There is one similarirty with Heathrow though, oops better not go down that route!!

Found where Domestic transfer was and were told a bus might come at 3 or 3:15 or Urcha maybe sometime just wait there. This meant at least 30 minutes!

In fairness we were summoned at 3 and onto a bus which trundled round to the Domestic terminal.

Rs50 (Dhs 4) later our luggage was on our trolleys and we went to check in. Empty check in and we were ambushed by two Jet Airways employees who took our luggage through security while I checked us in. Solly didn't trust them so kept a beedy eye on them!

Then on approaching security another ambush and they started helping me again. I was ready with Irs 100 (Dhs 8)in my pocket.

Well that's it really to date we are in Jet's lounge, comfortable if basic and should take off in 2hrs time for Jaipur.
