So... about getting a visa for india there are a few things that may be of interest,

1. currently as a canadian the longest tourist visa you can get for india is 6 months. This will of course change my trip significantly, i will now be possibly going to tailand for 2 months, in order to keep my trip the intended 8 months

2. You cannot get a visa in advance, well that is not true, you can, but it begins the date it's issued, you can't apply for a visa in october that you want to begin in january, so for all those of you who want to have everything in order months ahead of time, you got to bit the bullet and do it at the last minute. I for example currently am a holder of a 6 month visa that started on october 26, which is great except for the fact that i'm not leaving till mid january and staying for 6 months.

3. also the procress of getting a visa in canada takes roughly two days, mine took one. however according to the consulate if you want to get a visa in sri lanka for india it will take about 2 weeks, the lesson here being if you can, get one before you go. Granted i have not experienced this first hand and my faith in the india consulates advice is rocky at best.

On more exciting news it's mid way through november so i leave in 2 months and 6 days.
