The original port into India for European merchants and explorers. Portuguese and other European nation left behind their influences thru architectures and Christianity. Kochi has many mosques and churches. A lot of great places to get chicken and beef Biryanies. My favorite is this local place in Fort Kochi called "Hotel New Star." Its typical for restaurants to be called "Hotel."
The landscape from Banglore to Kochi was lush and green. It felt as if I was in the middle of a jungle. The weather was also cooler than Northern India and the people seemed more relaxed. I worked up the courage and rented a vespa to explore the city. The traffic was light around the area that I stayed, so that gave me peace of mind. I ate a lot of egg masala and paratha during my visit. It was just myself and two English girl at the guesthouse. I was a newer guesthouse and the person in charge was a young quite man with long hair. The English girls were quite at first, but then we became friends. We had tea together and even watch a football
match. We met some people that offered to pay us to be in a commercial. It was somewhere in the local area and was a legit gig.

"Spiritual contentment and joy can be found in the simplest of people. The ones you least expect. It could be the smiling bus driver, the brick layer, the paratha make or the guy sleeping on the side walk. What these individual possess, that most rich people don't have is the joy in contentment. Their life is simple and they are happy to keep it that way. "When you are doing something for someone and they are making money off of you, charge them." Its a cold world, you gotta look out for yourself." Journal Entry: 06.16.2014

St. Francis Church: Built in 1503, St Francis is the oldest church in India. Also the site where Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gamma was originally buried.
Dutch Cemetery: Oldest European cemetery in India.
Jew Town and Paradesi Synagogue: The Synagogue was built in 1568 by descendants of Spanish, Dutch and other European Jews. Jew Town was the home of many Jews before Israel was formed.
Tea and Food Time!! I had my first proper tea time at a nice little tea house with some lovely English friends of mine. An interesting experience it was.
My first meal in Kochi. It was a local fish curry with rice. A bit more expensive, but was still delicious.
Puta: Dried rice cake with coconut flakes on the top layer. Neither salty nor sweet.
Egg Curry: Breakfast: Egg Curry and Parotha. Typical South Indian food.
Parotha and steak.
Parotha King: This man is a beast. He is the Lebron James of Parotha
making.
For the S&M fans: An interesting torture device I saw while in Kochi.
