The weather changed in the night, my first proper nights sleep here. The monsoon rolled across the plains and up the valley, feeling like a violent drunk ordering a strong first drink in a bar he was known and feared in.

And then, like the sudden tears of a half forgotten grief, the rain starts with the memory of rain, then a sudden deluge, then slows, to damps cheeks and reassuring smiles. It won't be dry again til September.

Evening



Being an electrician here is an extreme sport, rather than a profession. A wire fused, sparking and glowing hot white, whilst I ate dinner. It stretched across the street and as it cooled orange it melted and fell away. Every telegraph pole in the country is a spidersweb of wires, bootlegging 'lecci off each other.

Its getting quite frustrating. Lobsang- the editor I'm supposed to be meeting with- is an elusive git. I keep turning up at allotted places and the like but to no avail. A well. I read all night, no sleep, so will probably crash quite soon and literally.
