on-season beach
It's white sand What is off-season?
What happens in Off-season?
Why is off season time cheaper?
Off-Season is a time or phase - in this case from mid May to mid September - during which a place - in this case the Andaman and Nicobar Islands - experiences a severe lull in a particular kind of economic activity - in this case being Tourism - due to certain circumstances - in this case being Rain.
Due to this “lull” that I have previously spoken of, any tourist indulging in tourist-related activity is welcomed and encouraged through discounts.
Why does Rain affect Tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands?
The A&N Islands are known for their glass-like waters which allows a tourist to view an unimaginable marine eco-system beneath the water’s surface from even as far up as your airplane window.
This is usually the case peak season - in this case being from Late December to late March - mainly summer.
This is largely because there is, as the song rightly says, “Not a cloud in the sky,” and so the blue effect of the clear sky and consequent brightness of the summer sun beaming down through unpolluted air into unpolluted waters and

This is again an on-season photograph finally onto either a clear-white or clorourful floor-bed, creates a dream-like vision.
But during the famous
Off-Season the sky is generally overcast a.k.a cloudy, usually elbowing the lazy Andaman sun behind its white blanket, preventing it from doing what I described above.
Thus, if I tell you that in the A&N Islands the sand is white, the sun is bright, and the waters are glass-like, please understand what I mean is “when the sun is bright and the skies are clear, the sand will appear white and the waters will appear glass-like.”
So, if, instead, you choose to come here during “off-season” because it’s cheaper, and then you complain that the sea is three different shades of grey instead of aqua, blue and gree; that you cannot see the bottom of the ocean from your boat, leave alone an airplane window; or that the waves are too rough at your tender expectations of glass-like waters or that the sand isn’t white enough or soft enough or wide enough to be considered a big deal, then that’s really your problem.
Beauty, I have learned the hard way, comes at a price - if you cannot afford it, maybe you’re not
shacks
this is the sort of accommodation you'll get at neil ready for it.
To come here and complain about every single moment of your vacation despite knowing that the only reason it was so cheap to begin with is because it is off-season, makes me about 20% angry.
Then, to get upset because I don’t allow you to be behaving like the host instead of the guest makes me 5% more pissed off to see my guest a.k.a a mere tourist, getting pouty because I keep control of the oars.
And then to be told that it’s fine, really, because you “constantly deal with people like me in your line of work”…indicating that you are putting up with me, makes me 50% more pissed off. To say that YOU have to put up or “deal with” ME in my own home where YOU are the guest and I am the host, is just upside down.
Trust me, you wanna avoid ever saying that to your host no matter where you are, or who or how your host is.
And then, to add further insult to injury, when after telling me for two months constantly that you want to see the island and “advice” me on it, and then end up
farm
This is what a walk through the farm looks like all-year-round spending not-more-than five minutes on a 40-acre island and not visit more than ONE spot on it…especially after tall stories of having spent over-two months in Afghanistan, makes me another 15% more pissed off, because I know for sure that there is no way in hell that my place is worse than Afghanistan. So now, I’m at a grand total of 90% pissed off. And still ticking.
And right there comes the final 10%. Something that they would probably never remember, and I would probably never forget. After that, once you’ve pissed me off 100% you’re on your own. I wish to have nothing more to do with you. I wish for nothing more, than the dignity and sanctity of silence.
