This huge Apple store is just off the water front near the ferry terminal from Kowloon.
Hong Kong on a cloudy, foggy day. We are at the Hotel Cosmo on Kowloon. The hotel is brand new; the room very small but adequate. Hong Kong is a vertical city. Apartment complexes are clustered together and soar up 50 to 70 or more floors. I guess there is little choice but to build up instead of outward since the city is confined mostly to several islands and there is little level ground with mountains rising almost directly up from the sea. This morning Bill and I took one of the historic Star Line ferries across the harbor to Hong Kong Island and then hiked up some very steep streets, arriving at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception just in time for Easter Mass. Bill, a Unitarian, is a good sport to attend without complaint. Afterward we took the tram to the top of Victoria Peak. The view was spectacular but quite a bit of the city was obscured by fog. Later in the afternoon we went back to Kowloon and had high tea at the Peninsula Hotel, a grand old relic from the days of British rule. Hong Kong appears to be very properous. There seem to be upscale stores
Birds of Hong KongBirds of Hong KongBirds of Hong Kong

Hong Kongers take their birds for walks and hang them in the trees in small parks while their owners chat with friends
on every block; think Prada, H&M, Ferragamo, Hermes, Guici, etc. It seems that since China reclaimed Hong Kong from the British in 1997 nothing has hampered rapid growth in the business sector. Our ship, the Nautica, was spotted sitting next to the cruise terminal awaiting our embarcation tomorrow afternoon. All is well.
