Hong Kong, home to some of the greats like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. In fact I was staying only a few blocks down to where Bruce Lee grew up.
Hong Kong was ore than a welcome relief to the Spartan culture of China here ther were signs in English as well as Chinese but also plenty of Bars, restaurants, theme parks including mainstream Western shops, HMV, Marks and Sparks etc which I know sounds weird as travelling is supposed to be escapism from your culture and to experience a different way of life but China is so disconnected thats its hard not to appreciate a bit of home.
Hong Kong is a place which oozes money from the design of the place to its high rise buildings and bustling tourism industry there is plenty to see and do.
Took the famous Star Ferry across to Hong Kong Island not sure why its famous apart from the fact it takes you across the harbour which affords excellent views of the famous skyline.
