Every night they do a 'ligh show' with the buildings
So, after arriving at Heathrow about 5 hours early we got on our 12 hour flight. Absolute nightmare....watching films for all that time is apparently only fun in theory.
Anyway, got to Hong Kong about 7pm Thursday evening exhausted. Had to lie as I entered the country as they were asking alot of questions about any flu symptoms I'd had in the last 7 days. Pretended I hadn't even had a cough as I didn't think they'd let me in.

Got to the centre of Kowloon. Strangre American man asked if we knew where we were, when we said no he asked if we wanted to just go with him. . Oddly enough we declined. Found the hotel. Terrified when we first saw it. It is an enormous block of flats built on the top of a dodgy market. Have to go in a lift to the 16th floor, and there about 30 other hotels in this same block. Room resembled a cell, and you could sit on the loo, brush your teeth and shower all at once. When we got over the initial fear it wasn't too bad though! Wandered down to Victoria Harboour that first night to watch

It was hot...i wore shorts!! (White legs...)
the light show. Most incredible view I've ever seen. They definatly don't worry about their carbon footprint mind.

Spent our first full day over on Hong Kong island. Went up to Victoria Peak on a mad tram thing. Saw some awesome views over the island and Kowloon. Then we came down and checked out Hollywood street and the Man Mo Temple (definatly wasn't what we were expecting but nice to have a look around) then we headed to Soho for some food. Must have walked miles that day.

Then next day we headed over to Lantau island to see the worlds biggest buddha. It is massive (i wish I could remember the facts to reel off) Then we decided we had gone a bit nuts on the culture so decided to go to Disneyland in the afternoon which was, obviously, amazing fun.

Next day then we prepared for another great 10 hour flight to Auckland!
