We set off from Heathrow on the 9.15pm Air NZ flight to Hong Kong. Flight was on time leaving and, amazingly, an hour early on arrival. Bet that’s a first. We left the UK in almost zero temperatures but have had no use for the fleeces and jackets since. 23 degrees and it has been pleasantly warm. First time in Hong Kong for both of us and viewed initially from the air just as we landed. The airport is 15 miles out and on another island linked to Kowloon by new bridges. We had transit travel pre-arranged so smoothly bussed into our hotel in central Kowloon in no time at all. For those of you who may know it the main North to South road is Nathan Road and we were halfway along it. We were very comfortably placed to walk to places of interest, including the island of Hong Kong itself. Not that it was possible to walk on water – the ferry was the best option.
