The Star Ferry crossing between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island
It wasn’t so long ago that we were last in Hong Kong, so we knew exactly what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. The first stop was repulse bay, after of course travelling from Kowloon, where the hotel was, on the Star Ferry. Next was the walk around the peak and then the tram down. Next was a ride on a tram through Central and on the mid-level escalators.

One thing that was really starting to do our heads in was people constantly asking us if we wanted a suit made up. I do not wear suits as a rule and I am not going to go all the way to Hong Kong to waste my time worrying about suits – or shirts for that matter. Let’s make that quite clear. The strange thing to note was that none of these people hassling us were Chinese.

In the evening, we went to the Kowloon harbour side to watch the 8.00pm lightshow. This was absolutely amazing as about fifteen to twenty buildings all took part. The various lighting on these buildings was all co-ordinated to music. I took photos, but they couldn’t show what was going
