First stop on the tour bus from the hotel was Victoria Peak. Here are some different views of the city.

BAMBOO SCAFFOLDING

Check out this scaffolding, It is made from bamboo. Wanna know why? It it is light weight, cool to the touch, cheap, lasts ten years, flexible in the wind and pretty damn cool to look at. Traditional scaffolding which is made of steel or aluminum would be too hot to the touch to use in this climate.

ABERDEEN

I took a ride on a san pan through the floating village of Aberdeen. It is much smaller than when Mitchell and I were here 24 years ago. Thousands of boats with families and animals all living and working from their boats. Now a lot smaller but still has the charm of old Hong Kong.

Look for the fish drying out hanging from the boat.

This is where we had our wedding dinner.... Hong Kong's largest tourist trap. It definitely is a part of Hong Kong's history.

LEI YU MUN SEAFOOD MARKET

At this restaurant you pick all of the seafood live from large tanks in the outdoor market and then have them prepared anyway you want. This Indonesian lobster was prepared by lightly breading and dipped in red pepper flakes, salt and pepper and then fried. It was fantastic! The best lobster we have ever eaten. Other seafood items we had were Blue Crab, steamed baby prawns,(very sweet) Giant Rock Fish,(poisonous to eat if not prepared properly and very ugly to look at) and a rather chewy cuttlefish (tastes just like calamari).

Raymond hosted a lovely dinner tonight at Lei Yu Mun. This is the first time I met him. My husband has been working with him for over 4 years. Raymond manages the Hong Kong office.
