Yay finally overseas trip time again. Through some strange luck, Ani was also departing Brisbane International this morning about 30 mins before us at 10:30. Steves did the good thing and dropped us all to the airport. The flight was really quite crap, it was an old 767 plane and we didn’t even get a window seat. At least there was noone else sitting next to us. We had ice creams, noodles and of course beers and 8 hours after take-off we were landing on Lantau Island, one of the many islands in Hong Kong.

Barry and Hwai-Ping (HP) were at the airport to greet us after a quick bit of immigration and customs. After buying some Krispy Kreme donuts we drove to their apartment on Hong Kong Island. After a few run-ins with local taxi drivers, we arrived at the apartment to be greeted by Alto and Cirrus, the huskies. Ewen arrived not long after us and the maid cooked us a nice chicken curry dinner. During dinner a bus turned up which had been converted to a greengrocer, delivering the week’s fruit and vegies.

Barry dropped us to our hotel with a quick stop to see Ewen’s new apartment. It was very nice with a good view and very chic furnishings. Jasie showed us her latest purchase, a very blingin’ chandelier. We checked into our hotel/shoebox and crashed immediately in bed.
