Nightscape of Hong Kong
View from The Peak at night. Monday 3 November - Tuesday 11 November
Hong Kong seemed so organised after the other Asian countries we'd visited - the gleaming skyscrapers and extremely reliable train service were initially a shock to the system. Our visit was a quick one - to buy a much-needed new laptop for Steve (and spend 5 days setting it up), and to visit our friend Vicky from South Africa and her Scottish partner Paul.
Highlights • Dinner, cocktails and nights out with Vicky and Paul and his mom.
• The tram ride to The Peak - view over Hong Kong’s nightscape and city lights.
• Steve bought a new super small laptop, perfect for travelling. Valerie got a new camera and underwater case for scuba diving.
• Staying at Vicky and Paul’s lovely flat while they were away: thanks guys it was just like home!!
• General shopping and looking around; very interesting and first world.
Lowlights • We both caught a bad cold so sniffled our way around town.
• Stayed in the smallest hotel room we've ever seen in our lives - only one night.
• Not having enough time to properly explore the city!
