The article is about the families in China and hat is their household like. Traditional chinese families have the man as the head of the house. The man is then tagged with the responsibility to earning bread for the family. This also gives him complete athority and the final say in the family. The father is also responsible for housing and educating his children until marriage.

The family structure is based on the man in the family. The family depend on the man to get the job done for the family. This is somewhat different from the united states because the work is splited 50/50 between the husband and wife. In China, they let the men do all of the important things in the house. What makes it similar is that the man gets the final say in the household in america.
