hi again, all
as promised, now i have more access to internet, and
you will hear from me more often. i can't say the same
about you - didn't get much mails lately...
i am in lijiang, a very touristic old town. the town
was ruined in an earthquake a while ago, and rebuilt
from scratch in an old fashioned way. another thing
about this place is the naxi people, one of china's
many minorities. in this tribe the women are the boss
(is this why they are a minority and don't have their
own empire? just wandering...)
there is also a very cool mountain over the city (5500
meters high).
today we took bikes and went to a small village where
we saw these naxi people, and one old lady invited us
to her house for tea and crushables (=PITZUHIM). she
had a little METAYLIM BOOK with many people
recommending about her, and we added our little note
in hebrew - go look for it. no doubt in your mind that
she asked "for a little something" at the end...

there are of course many souvenir shops, and we found
these dragon's claws that found their destiny - see
picture.

after that we continued to a small tibetan temple a
little bit up the mountain. the climb with the bikes
was hard so we paid a local RIKSHA driver to take us
and our bikes for the last 2 km. the bargaining part
was funny - he started at 30, we said 5, he said no,
we started walking, and after a few rounds we settled
for 7...

well, that's all the stories for today. you can look
at the pictures as well...
be in touch,
R
