So once more I headed east to spend some time in my beloved China, it has been a few years so clearly I was due a visit. Shilin or the Stone Forest, just outside Kunming.

This is a famous stone which looks like Ashima who was a beautiful girl of the Yi people who was born here, yaddy ya, forbidden love etc, she turned to stone.

The view from the hotel, don't be fooled by the sunshine it was FREEZING at night and there was no heating in the room, brr.

They have a lot of techno bars amazingly, not quite as 'holy' as you might think.

The Chinese do love to be in a photo and even better if you can dress up in an ethnic costume, say 'noodle'

This style persists in many places in China these days, looks old but is actually new. They build a lot of these 'Ancient-Modern' towns I think.
