Wed 27 / 10 Dali to Lijang
Today was a day to move across Yunnan Province to the older and more 'tourist' town and home of the minority Naxi people of Lijang after the bigger city of Dali
It was 06:30 wake-up call for a breakfast pack and go by around 08:00. Local guide Marina arrived to allow Rita to try a traditional costume and bid us farewell
Showering and washing of hair was made difficult with the poor flow of water
The 4 ½ hr bus ride (including toilet stop) provided a fascinating view across the extensive farming land and life of so many Chinese peasants. Miles upon miles of land under vegetable plots with many of the hill slopes terraced into flat beds.
Large wind turbines scattered across the higher ridges and solar panels on rooftops provided an insight into the energy generation of the area
Arriving in Lijang enabled us to book our bags into the room before a hotel restaurant lunch and a n afternoon of sightseeing.
First stopping at the Black Dragon Pond we enjoyed a stroll to view the Pence Pavilion , Five Arch Bridge and the park
surround including the National Naxi Museum
A side visit to Can Nuo outlet for a presentation of the wonders of Spirulina
A walking into the Ancient Lijiang Town provided a relaxing afternoon
An enjoyable evening attending the Naxo Dongba Museum and Music Show were the heritage of this minority tribe is being kept alive - some at a grand age of 80+
