The holiday started early Sunday morning when the driver picked the three of us (a friend, Linda, Dianne and Peter) up at 5:30. Many quiet lanes branch off the main pedestrian streets. Even though many streets did allow cars, there wasn't much traffic.

Lots of interesting diversions along the walkways. Most have English signs. Some we can even understand.

Mamma Mia's restaurant was a very pleasant spot for lunch along the main channel of the river winding through town.

The shot was taken a few feet from Mamma Mia's. The rivers are pretty controlled in this area.

The horses are strictly for tourists and there are also horse drawn wagons you can use to get about the old town. But the truck is very definitely a business vehicle. There are many of these old style trucks putt-putting around carrying goods to the various businesses. The external belt drive engine is really something to see. And hear.

There are many fruit and vegetable vendors out and about. Linda bought a bag of walnuts from this happy lady. Lots of fun negotiating with these colorfully dressed locals.
