Current Mood: Thank God for internal flights.... ooooh its warm!!

Ok so flying is great and i too am converted! its a real shame i havnt the funds to fly all of the time! (even though it was only 20 quid) the trip here to Kunming was only an hours flight as apposed to 18 hours on a hard sleeper train! we arrived early enough to see rush hour Kunming in the 4pm oclock SUN!!! yep people china is warming up!!

To be Honest Kunming looks no different or is no better than any other city in China that ive had the pleasure of visiting so far! I have however fell lucky with the Hostel!! Its Called the HUMP (the title isnt really true you now see) and its situated on the edge of Jinmambi Square which seems to be an attractive part of the city. The hostel is on the 3rd Floor of a block of various set ups and it holds a roof top terrace that is huge and looks out over the square!!!

The night life in the hostel is so chilled but quite hapnin!!! (how cool am i wid my words hahaha) Tim.... Not

being well hit the internet and then the sack!!! he was a poorly puppy so i was left to my own devices which it seems usually involves Tsingdao and having a butchers at the talent!!! Early in the evening i got chatting with a lovely looking gal called Elizabeth from Holland so i remained in her company for the evening as well as a few other guys including a jordy lad called steve!!! We went for food in kunming local to the digs which was fun without my Mandarin Translation book and then continued to drink back in the HUMP. the night was great and it again was cool to hear of the activities others have taken part in!!! i also love having a story to tell of travels too!! i feel somewhat cool hehehehe!!

In the mornings there are guys Practicing a kind of Kendo/Thai chi amongst the Hustle and bustle of the Jinmambi square area!! (its quite funny watching pedestrians dodging swords on thier merry route to work hahaha THE STRESS LEVELS MUST BE SKY HIGH) Very Calming to watch and so far from finding rats in your room... hahahah The MIX Hostel of SURPRISES!

My reason for being in Kunming is to get my Vietnamese visa so the plan of attack for my second day, first morning in Kunming was to do just that!!! Out on to the bus after a game of catch with a keen sportsman Steve dodging the swords in the Square and into the consulate house which is no bigger than a corner shop lottery counter!! ( well the consulate is small. The building/hotel/mall/something huge that is in was massive!! its a pain standing in a lift for 60 floors when the bit you want is on the 2nd)

400 Yuan later and a nice strole back through some of Kunming im back at the Hump to say good bye to Steve who is heading to Dali and Elizabeth who is off to Laos! I plan to meet her in Cambodia maybe??!?!!?!? Steve ill see in Dali!

The second night time approached and i got Chatting with this guy Called Henry who has decided to tag along when we head north towards Dali!!! We stay another night and play abit of pool!!! Tomorrow we head to dali by bus!!! This will be fun!!! oooooh ive gotta say........ Chinese girls are very stunning people!

im off to bed now ill be intouch from Dali!!!

Love from a Brummy

he he glad you are still managing to be a socialite even in China. Make sure you get a trip into Yangsho and visit moon hill. Try a climb too if you get to Longshen. Got visa problems of my own here! lol
