Hi All,
Just outside of ShangLi is a modal communist village called Dongfeng. The village has been built on the site of a Red Army hospital which was set up when the Long March passed through here in 1935-36. There are some lovely Red Army soldier statues peeping from behind the long grass and corn. There is also some propoganda graffiti, stirring up the locals to take up the fight against the Nationalist and Japanese forces. Also some lovely graffiti carved into the rock face from the Cultural Revolution wishing Chairman Mao a long life.
