Hi All, Things didn't quite go to plan. The plan was to go onto the mountain at Wunian temple and head up close to the Golden Summit to see the sunrise. Unfortunately we ended up going the wrong way and took the scenic route. I'm pleased we did as the hike up to Xianfeng temple was hard work but breathtakingly beautiful. Emeishan
Brings back fabulous memories of one of the fabulous sacred mountains of China. Through jungle with monkeys in the lower sections then ice and snow at the summit. We reached the summit in a blizzard so the golden elephant effigy was only a blur. Bet deep down you are happy you took the cablecar. If you hadn't I wonder if you would have made it to the summit at all !!!

Hey Dave. I tell ya there was no way I was climbing another 8km. It would take 3 days to get to the summit. yet the tickets were only valid for 2 days. There is all face recognition stuff when buying and using tickets.
