Arrived in China, at Shanghai Pudong Airport at around 8pm. Pudong is gargantuan to say the least. Connor and I took some photos, like the cheesy tourists we are. Leaving the airport was a rather stressful experience. Our hostel is in a location where the local train/bus stop has two different names, and the name we were given on the booking form (Hangkou football station) didn't match the one the bus route went to (Luxun Park). We spent the entire bus trip freaking out that we would end up completely lost, but luckily road signs were occasionally in English so we soon figured out we were on the right track. Once we got to Hangkou football station, we had absolutely no bearings, and no accurate map, so ended up wandering the streets for an hour or so until we finally got a taxi driver to take us to our hostel. Turns out it was a five minute walk from the station. Koala Garden House is adorable. Very sweetly decorated, cool bar/lounge, giant staircase (almost spiral but not quite) and cute little rooms. The very best feature of all though is the resident cats! One tabby and one little white kitten with one blue eye and one brown. They are very cheeky cats, play-fighting everywhere, getting in your way and following you around.

Also I should mention how cold it is here, way colder than it has everbeen in Melbourne, gloves barely work! I guess we'll get used to it. Thermals tomorrow!!
