snowed in in shanghai!

helloooo! back in china and missing the heat of the philippines & thailand! both were great and we had so much fun and there's soo much tell & soo many pics to upload..but unfortunately i'm stuck in shanghai!! we landed in shanghai at about 1am, Sat night and stayed at a hostel, planning to get a bus to zhangjiagang on sunday. when i got to the bus station, however i found out that that due to snow, the highways to zhangjiagang were closed, and therefore there's no way to get there at all! lol.. alesia however was able to get a train back to changzhou right away...so i went to a hostel and got a bed for the night. then, yesterday i asked the hostel if they could find out if the buses were running. they tried calling but couldn't get through and told me to just go and try to buy a ticket and if they were i could get one for later that day and just come back to get my stuff. so i went. and while i was on my way on the subway it started blizzarding! soo, i went anyway and bought a ticket for today, figuring that since the buses had been canceled for 2 days, the buses would probably fill up quickly. after spending another night at the hostel, i checked out this morning sure the buses would be running..it was sunny out and and not raining or snowing at all. i got to the bus station almost 2 hours early since its been insane there each time i've gone the past few days. like crazyy there are people everywhere and everyone has tons of stuff and people have been basically living at the bus station waiting for the buses to start running again. so, i sat there and people watched and bought some snacks and stuff and then finally when it was about 15min before my bus was supposed to leave i went to the door and gave them my ticket so they could tell me which bus it was. ...but the 2 guys working at the counter looked at eachother and then at me and it was pretty clear the bus still wasn't running..neither of them said anything to me though..one just motioned for me to follow him. so i followed him through the insane crowds of people with my 2 pretty big bags, one of which now has a whole in it..and the other was really cheap so i'm expecting it to break any minute..haha. we went throguh some office and the guy asked some people something and they told us to go somewhere else..so we left and then he told me just to stand in the middle of lobby and he'd be right back. he came back with a lady a few minutes later and she took my ticket and then went and got in some insanely long line. yes they both work at the bus station and she still had to get in line!! lol, weird. so i stood there with the guy and waited for about 15 min until she came back and gave me a refund! so..now i'm back at the hostel..which luckily is really nice..and tomorrow i'll try again! haha..k, well i g2g
can't wait to tell you all about my trip and to upload all of my pics!
