The TV tower of Shanghai.
(For the english version scroll halfway down)

Unfortunatly an image does not contain the atmosphere of exitement and awe.

Today we succeded in visiting The bund, it was nice, but nothing extraordinary !

Afterwards we visited a factory producing silk carpets. Here we realy got an impression of what enormous work lays behind these carpets, it could take over one year to produce a carpet of 1 square meter (of the higest quality) !

After the factory we visited the botanical garden of Shanghai, in particular the department for bonsai trees (it seemes they were invented here in China for over 7000 years ago).

It was impressive, but after a couple of hundred trees, they tends to look much alike.

After our evening meal, we attended a show with the famous Chinese acrobates.

It was a fantastic show, and I will not try to describe it, as it will be impossible, you just have to experience it.

On the way home, we were four who decided to dismount the bus by the bund, and

The bund was nice by day, but by night is it impressive.
walk home to our hotel, and now (in the dark) the bund was worth the visit !

Of course we got lost on our way home to the hotel, and even though we had the card from the hotel, no one was able to tell us how to get there. People was friendly and helpfull, but we didn't understand them and they didn't understand us !

At last we hailed a taxi, and got home, but we got to see Shanghai by night ;o)

Our guide has told us, the weather would be rather cool because of the typhoon, the day temperature was around 29 degrees celsius whereas they normally would have around 35 to 38 degrees C.

I have taken over 250 images by now, so there will be much to look at when I get home.

I'm logging off for now.
