The Great Mosque of Xian was set up in 742AD, Wow. Just northwest of the City Center is Huimenjie, the Muslim markets. So many tourist come here that many of the shop owners can speak surprisingly good English. Down a few small streets the shops open up onto the Great Mosque.
At the center of the huge roundabout in the center of the city is the Zhonglou or Bell Tower. The four major roads that cross the city meet here. It would be equivalent to the Arc De Triomphe of Paris. Yes the pictures include a Starbucks and a large plasma screen on the face of a seven floor shopping mall.
