Took a two hour flight to Xi'an airport, then a packed bus to central, within the ancient palace walls, at the bell tower. We had a short walk to Nan men Li, (The south gate) where our hostel (sheyuan hostel) was located. We chilled in the cafe with our welcome coffee then ordered some food, dumplings and peppered chicken for Laura. The hostel had a pet retriever which was a bit fat and was waddling around getting as much attention as possible and looking for any free food. Nice to have a mess about with the dog.
We had some beers and had a chat with all the other backpackers, then went downstairs to the terrecotta themed bar. Met this Belgian guy that was really funny, he was cycling the world!! Wasnt allowed into China on a motorbike tour so decided to do it on a bicycle because there were no laws, sounded so funny entering China from Kazakstan i think, customs were completely baffled!!! We drank copious amounts of beer and after a birthday call to my mum went to bed.
