Xi'an Train Station
On the left as you come out of the station is the 306 bus which for 7rmb will take you to the Terracotta Army. Its the last stop and they pick you up there. Saves the tourist trap of an organised tour, which includes a 6 hour shopping trip..... Travelled 12 hours over night from Beijing on a hard seat, sat across the aisle from each other.
(Wasn't wooden benches like in russia) They were padded - but didn't recline.
So not a lot of comfort there then....
It also had air conditioning,
so much so that we ended up putting fleeces on.
We also had chair warmers, people would kindly sit in your seat and keep them warm until your return.
(Seat warmers = Standing passengers, who couldn't get a seat allocation) There were loads of seat warmers with luggage, trying to sleep in any available spaces.
They could have even been in the toilets for all we knew, but the smell of those kept us away!!!!
Finally arrived in Xi'an cross legged and feeling knackered.
Found Bob's Guest House easily, just a 15 minute walk from the station.
Needless to say, we made immediate use of the en suite then to bed Zzzzzzzz....
The following day we headed for the local points of interest,
The Bell Tower and The Drum Tower.
Check out the pictures......

Drum City!
Coo er. Not for the sensitively-eared ones! Great to see you're still gadding about jauntily. Greetings from all in Oxfam! Want any spinach for the Moon Festival??
