This is home!
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun, but the joy and the song like the seasons has all gone . . . . the melachonly tune wafts across campus on the warm summer's night air. As she wanders closer to the origin of the music the sound becomes a blare! She wanders across the NIT campus with a smile on her face after her evening shopping spree at the All Home Mart grocery store. Ahhhh the complexity and diversity (or perhaps the word should be oddities of China). The Mercedes and the Beamers and the Audis that frequent this very road along with the electric bikes and the recycler pulling his rickshaw type wagon, the "ROTC" students doing drill and practice, and the few college students on campus. The same rode this magwarin (American) louwsher (teacher) now walks with her bag of goodies for her Chinese students tomorrow. As she get closer to her home for 2 weeks, the campus hotel, she wonders if the music from that building ever cearses. What is that building and who plays the music that comes from it? The Chinese tunes mixed with a random tune such as the one

now playing - this is the third time she has heard it now, it must be a favorite. And just last week as the three American teachers admired the lotus blooming there and the bullfrogs croaking they enjoyed Cold Play in English blaring from the building. Does the music ever stop? Ah but it is time now to get home and have dinner (take out Chinese - LOL) and relax a bit . . . . tomorrow starts another week of class!

And more home!

Round the Corner

These are the buildings around the corner and the end one is the one that plays the music all during the week. We discovered it is a grocery store which is on the 2nd floor up the escalator that doesn't run! Going there makes me feel like I am in a ghost town or in one of those movies like Escape from New York or Independence Day. Its kinda weird - dim lights, stuff on the floors, no one around . . .

We went in here one day - for a library there aren't many books!
