One of the places I went this week in Suzhou was the Suzhou Museum. The original complex was built in the 60s, but a new building was built in 2006, which was designed by I.M. Pei. This was one of the last major projects he worked on before retiring.

Not much else to say about it, but here are some pictures from the museum.

These are from the Tang Dynasty, about 1200 years old.

About 1000 years old; this was found in a Suzhou pagoda by 3 kids in 1978.

I took this picture because it reminded me of Delftware, a style of Dutch pottery with primarily blue and white glaze. After doing some reading, I discovered the Dutch imported Chinese pottery and eventually imitated the style alongside their own.
