One big difference between this hospital and what I've seen in the US is the use of gloves. While I haven't seen sterile technique in the OR yet, in the wards, gloves are only worn for procedures, for instance the bone marrow aspiration the residents attempted this afternoon. However, working with lines, line placement, and exams on patients are all done sans gloves - there are no gloves to be found in the unit. It's a big difference from the glove- and Purell-covered hallways and patient rooms in US hospitals.
