Yangshuo is a limestone karst countryside where there are over 20,000 limestone karsts; steep, tree-covered mounds ranging from 100 to 300 meters high covering an area of 1,428 square km. The region has a population of roughly 300,000 with it's main industries being agriculture and tourism. We spent two days here cycling through the limestone karst countryside and took a boat trip along the Li River. In Yangshuo we gat the chance to visit a traditional Chinese market, where everything from dogmeat to live fish were being sold, one of the stalls even had the carcass of a dog hanging outside it. There were cages and cages of dogs, rabbits, ducks and chickens for sale. Didn't get any photos as no cameras were allowed. On the bikes we cycled the dirt tracks that linked the villages lining the river and we managed to fit in a climb to up to Moon Hill.
