Yangshuo is a really great place to go in the middle of the countryside. There was no phone or internet and we spent a few days cycling around the rice fields, walking around and reading our books. We also took a chinese cookery class which was really good fun! We got to eat the results! We also mananged to avoid the dog section of the market, they eat dogs in this part of china, they are all the same breed and you see loads wandering around.

The scenery is amazing, really green and our first real taste of insects, we now have a few bites. On another culinery note, some of the other guest at the hostel had ordered snake to eat and steve joined them in drinking the blood as an apperitif - DEVINE!! This time it was a non venonous snake but the previous week some guests had ordered a cobra to eat, WHY!!?? THe snakes arive in the kitchen live, then the chef cuts the head off! Appart from eating snakes the hostel was a great old converted farm house 3 miles down a dirt track in the middle of nowhere and we really liked it, I would definitely like to go back there one day!

This morning we took a bus to Nanning and tommorrow we take a bus to Hanoi, so we are finally leaving China after a month and heading into Vietnam...
