Hello and welcome to the second day of our travel blog!
Here are what some of our students had to say:
"The thing I have most enjoyed today is the Kung-Fu lesson. It was really fun and the moves were fairly easy. I was also taught how to hand wash my clothes by Mrs Hylands!" Sophie Chant.
Our day started at 7.10am with an opening ceremony on the parade ground where we welcomed by the Principal. The event started with traditional drums, the lion dance and fireworks! we all went on the stage and replied to her welcome in English and Chinese.
We then had a really interesting day doing Chinese lessons, learning the art of Calligraphy, and Kung Fu lessons. The Kung Fu lessons were enjoyed by all the students but some students took to it better than others. Mr Harrison, Mrs Stevens and Mr Harris all had a go too!
"My favourite part of the day of the day was the Kung Fu lessons and I learned loads of new moves, that I can practice at home in my new Kung Fu t- shirt I bought"
Jonny Chant
Some teachers and students visited
the local shops where we saw how the Chinese go about their business in very small shops. A Garage next to a decorator next to a food market, people sitting outside playing Mah Yong, lots of bicycles!
This evening we are rehersing for the singing and Shakespeare we will be perfoming tomorrow night and doing some Chinese lessons with Chinese students teaching the English students.
