Yep - we can fit you into this tuk tuk Jaidyn!!!! Well after a month (or more) on the ground in this amazing country I think that I should put fingers to keyboard and let you all know what has been happening with us all here in Cambodia.
Arriving here without David was a little disconcerting – even though I have been many times before alone – this time was a little outside my comfort zone with settling into our own unit, in an area that was totally unfamiliar to me. But now things are settling in and we are getting our bearings to key areas around us and also links to the areas already familiar.
Things are a little unsettled here with the post election debate raging as to who won etc. We are getting good advise and are ready to batten the hatches and lock ourselves behind all that razor wire if the need be. But not feeling unsafe at all at the moment! Don't worry mum!
It was awesome to visit with the ladies at Flourish again and they are all very happy to see the building happening. The building is looking great and should have the roof frame up by the end of this week.

View from the balcony The ladies all want a big party when the building is finished - think they all just want to see Dave dancing. Anyway that is something to look forward to in about 6 weeks. At the moment, as the building is not completed there is not a lot to do at the site apart from just maintain the products we already have in place. Meeting with someone next week who wants us to work with a group of ladies in his village - they already have machines and a workplace, so sounds good. Just need now to sell all the gear that they are making 😊
Went to one of the smaller churches in PP on our first Sabbath - could not understand a word but they told us the bible verses and so we got the gist of what the service was about. They loved having us there and the people were so so friendly. So I think that we will continue to go to this church when we are in PP. A couple of a sponsor kids go there - so it is nice to worship with them too.
Free time at the unit is a

View from our bedroom window little difficult with the boys as there is no where really for them to play or muck around. Think a wii might be in order when mum comes to visit in a few weeks. Never thought I would see the day when we had one in house but..... circumstances change😊
Food is interesting.... not that we are suffering a lack of, but it is just the range that is limited. There is a major supermarket (kinda like coles - but not that familiar) but we are still not able to purchase all the things that we are used to. So once a week we splurge out and go to the supermarket to add some variety into our menu for the week (things like bread, yoghurt, pasta, sauce, cereal) and then it is a feast in our home 😊 For the remainder of the week Dave is the big market shopper and goes down to the local markets and does our fruit and vegetable shopping every couple of days (or ideally every day). I am getting good at cooking eggs, vegetables and rice and noodles and rice - not that the khmer kids think so, I am obviously adding the

Our front entrance - and they say this is the safe part of town aussie touch and have plenty more to learn! Anyway we are not hungry but I am sure after 6months will be please to eat a subway!! Actually - last night i made potato patties and we had them in bread with fresh salad, the boys reckon it was the best meal they had eaten since they had arrived. I love 'em... easy to please!
Was great to have Clint and Jesse come and visit for a few days. Jesse loved hanging out with his brother Sovath and the other boys at ICC and soon learnt the art of bottle-lid popping at each other in the back of the truck and other nasty Khmer habit s 😉 Spent some of our time together at a families house out from Kompong Thmor and organising a roof to go on their house. We were planning on actually labouring to do this but once again did not take into account all the anomalies that can occur in Cambodia Kingdom of Wonder. Had to drive out 1 1/2 hrs each way in the back of the truck on the most corrugated roads - after 2 days of this I can vouch that we had

A spot of furniture shopping - think I might invest in a tuk tuk when I get home and sell off the trailers bruises where there should not be bruises. On Clint's last day they found a sugar cane grinder after much attempting khmer and charades - so if you want some good duk um pov - head over to clints! Lovely to spend the time with you guys!!
Anyway Dave is normally going to write this because he thinks my writing is boring but at least it is factual and you don't have to try to determine the fact from all embellishments! I have been awake since 4 this morning but at least it has given me the opportunity to pay some bills, answer some emails and hopefully post this online.
Have a happy sabbath to all and God bless, love from the Hughes
