After Siem Reap I headed to Phnom Penh, the country's capital. From here I visited the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng museum, a former school that was used to detain and torture prisoners during Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime - really interesting but harrowing stuff.

The site of 129 mass graves - this monument is a memorial to the approximately 17,000 men, women and children who were executed here during the Khmer Rouge regime (many were former prisoners at Tuol Sleng). The monument houses aproximately 8000 skulls that have been found in the graves during excavations.
