This temple's walls used to be jewel encrusted. My guide told me that all the holes in the rocks were where the adornments were anchored.

In the wall here you can see the silhouettes of where Buddha statues used to sit. Sadly the statues have all been looted, but you can imagine what this building must have looked like when it was lined, surrounded, by hundreds of buddha statues.
