We woke up after a good sleep Thursday feeling nice and refreshed and planned to chill for most go the day and go quad biking for sunset. We ended up getting up having breakfast and heading to town. Me and Brad had bought a picture for my mum and couple for ourselves for when we are home so wanted to post them. The art out here is unreal the pictures are beautiful, we just just couldn't resist in buying one as a memory for when we are home. Alex and Matt joined us and we ended up having a little shop around town, the boys getting 'same same but different' t shirts (a saying the Asians like to use out here describing things lol) Alex got a top too and I got a necklace. We walked around for a couple of hours them treated ourselves to a nice cream in the best ice cream parlour (mum you would have been proud it was your heaven lol). After our morning shop we headed to our hotel and chilled around the pool until it was time for quad biking.
We headed out about 5pm and I was quite reluctant as never been
on one before and heard lots of horrible stories but it was fine, Brad drive ours the whole time! We were about 2/3 of the way to the point for sunset when it started to rain, and when I say rain I mean torrential rain! It didn't stop the whole time we were on the bikes, so another sunset that didn't go to plan lol. On the way back it got quite scary too it was pitch black and all we could see In Front of us was the pouring rain so we were all relieved to get back safely!!
Once back we all got ready for dinner, the plan was to have dinner and a drink and then to bed as we were shattered. We went to a restaurant in Pub Street and met Linda such a cool little girl! She was 12 years old and had been learning English at school since 3. Her teacher was American so she had a real American twang to her accent, and boy did she have attitude!! Telling Brad he was too old for him with the finger shake and adding 'honey' on the end of everything. We loved her!! She then challenged brad to a game of scissors paper rock if he lost he had to pay for a bracelet for all if and, if he won we got them free. He of course, lost to Linda made a killing out if us, losing to Matt as well lol. She was so friendly though and so approachable we didn't mind at all.
After did near we headed across the road to a cool bar and that's where we stayed until about 2am lol. About 8 beers, 4 cocktails and 4 pitchers later the 4 of us were quite merry but had had an amazing night dancing all night and just had a real laugh. The first time since we left home, so Danielle and Nick's wedding since we'd really properly drunk and had a dance so you can imagine e how drunk we were on that concoction ha!! We loved it though and was one of our best nights so far with Matt and Alex who we are sooo glad to be with!!
We all woke up the next day with pretty fuzzy heads so headed to our little restaurant we found with mice and all got fry ups. It was soooo needed!! Afterwards we went to....the cinema! Yup that's right! We found a little cinema in a chopping mall where they screen some recent movies or loads of older ones. We chose This Is The End and it was pretty funny. We had a room to ourselves with a massive sofa and 2 massive leather chairs, it was better than being at home and was just what we needed on a hangover day! We had to be back at the hotel by 3 to get our taxi to the airport as we were flying back to Bangkok that night for 1 night before heading to Thailand.
The flight was only an hour and went really quickly, we were in Bangkok by 6 which was good. The four of us booked hotels in Koh San road, known as the backpacker area. It was mental!! So so busy and absolutely buzzing. We were all still feeling pretty fragile so had some dinner and headed to bed as were up at 5am to get to Thailand. And all I can say is thank god we were so exhausted because the music was so so lid and went on all night! Even when we were leaving the hotel at 5.30am the next morning there was music still going and people still on the street! It was actually quite eery lots of people completely out of it still drinking and with prostitutes everywhere. We were quite pleased to be getting out to be honest!!
So we are in Thailand now and have been for a couple of days so I will update you on that in my next entry
Lots of love B&K xxxxxx
