"Siem Reap is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia, and is the gateway to the Angkor region and temples like Angkor Wat. Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter, and around the Old Market." Wikipedia
Siem Reap was my base to visit the famous Angkor temples. I like walking so I see lots that you miss in a taxi. I stayed close to the market and Pub Street area so good food and entertainment were nearby. There are lots of massage places which are a good place to fix your sore feet after touring the temples. Taxis are on every corner so there is no problem about getting around Siem Reap very cheaply. I made some new friends in Siem Reap and had a great time there. We went to the Blue Moon disco one night and they took me to the beer garden the next for a great evening out. We also went to a highway on the outskirts of town where street food was available on the roadside and we sat on straw mats to consume our meal.
