We took the five-hour bus trip from the beach at Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh City on January 25thand then hopped in a taxi for the airport. As you know
Angkor Wat is impossible to describe to anyone who has not experienced it first hand. The sheer magnitude of this creation defies understanding especially when realizing that all the stone was transported many kms. by elephant from quarries far away. Connie and I never ceased to be amazed at the bas relief that went on and on as well as the mortar-less stonework which has not only stood the test of time but made a valiant effort to withstand the relentless bombing by our American friends. This is truly one of the wonders of the world.
