after , enjoying the Island of phi phi off the west coast of Thailand , I decided to go see an historic site that I have wanted to see my previous two times in Asia , but some how never found the time to .

Angkor Wat !!!

this is a group of Hindu and Buddhist influenced temple's located just out side of Siem Reap , Cambodia , this string of temples was lost to the inequities time , and for hundreds of years they remained unknown and lost deep in the jungle's of south east Asia , until late in the 19th century when a group of french explorer's helped to introduce them to the west , these french explorer's found it hard to believe the Khmers could have built such a structure , and too this day , it is quite astounding that any pre-industrial society found a way to erect such incredible large stone buildings and incorporate such one of a kind Buddhist / Hindu art work ,

Angkor Wat in many ways can rival anything I saw in India , but in it's own very unique way .

these next several photographs will be of the temples of Angkor and the surrounding town of Siem Reap ,

as A side note , Cambodia was much easier to travel to and in , than I would have at first thought .
