Sunday 3rd August Our Cambodian trip started in Phnom Penh where we spent a couple of days. I haven't included a blog for this period of time as I really didn't do much. Two of the five towers have interesting brick sculptures depicting Vishnu and Lakshmi.

Banteay Kdei is crumbling due to faulty construction and the use of poor quality sandstone...plus also it's several centuries old I guess.

Angkor Thom was a great city and served as the centre of the Khmer Empire at the end of the 12th century and beginning of the 13th century.

Mystery surrounds the identity of the Leper King. A theory is that the Leper King represents the god of death and the royal crematorium was located here.
