Bayon Temple
Us at the large bayon temple at Angkor Hello all, we're in Cambodia and still alive! Weve just had the most scariest day on a tuk tuk. Óut here a tuk tuk is a motorcycle attached to a 2 wheel carriage. We did a day at the main temples in Angkor which was fantastic. Then the Lonely planet guide recommended visiting some outlying temples so we hired a tuk tuk again and boy were they "outlying" (by about 30-40Km). The roads out here are dirttracks and on this tuk tuk you could feel every pothole. Twice our driver missed the turning. We went over one bridge which was made up of a few sturdy planks of wood but not much in between. Hence the left wheel of our tuk tuk carriage got wedged in between two planks when going over! Luckily for us it blocked the road so a large truck load (I really mean truckload) of Cambodians got out and helped us un-wedge it. We saw one temple which was lovely and then went to what we thought was another temple with a waterfall. We trekked up hill in the hot jungle for 45mins looking for this temple. Jason asked a German bloke where it was who told
Steep steps
We spent all day going up and down stairs like these. I dont think they would put stanna stairlift in for us. us that there is no temple but just stone carvings in a river!!!
However the waterfall we saw kind of made up for all this. On the positive side we did get to see the rural Cambodia with loads of cute Cambodian kids waving at us all the time (it makes you feel like the queen). Honestly they are really nice people out here who are just trying to make a living they don't seem to go out their way to con you like they do in Thailand.
