Got a 12 hour bus up from Sihanoukville to Siem Riep, via capital Phnom Phen (all major roads run through here)

I went out the first afternoon in a tuktuk saw angor wat the MAJOR one, amazing that this whole temple complex was built 800 years ago, and had a population of one million while London had only 50,000. Then I went to the top of a hill temple where it is good to see sunset, it was a pretty awesome place, more surreal by the fact theart there were hundreds of people there.

The second day I rented an old single speed ladies bike for $2, most of the locals ride a similar one. It was warm work pedalling in 32 degree heat with high humidity. I only stopped to look round one of the temples which is in an original state with tree roots and vines growing through/over the stone.
One worrying thing is they seem to be trying to restore the temples to their former glory, i saw new sections of stone and stonemasons chiseling the old designs in. I think maybe they should restore a couple of temples bet leave the rest alone

Anyway its all pretty breathtaking

Heading off to Bangkok tomorrow then another bus down to the southern thai islands
