On December 27, 2006, it is our second day at Bagan, after a good night's rest. Bagan is built beside this river. The water level is low during the dry seasons.

A nun is inside preparing for the ceremony. WE did not know how long it will take so we did not stay.

Manuha Phaya. The Buddha image was made huge because the king who built this phaya was once imprisoned and he wants others to feel how cramped he was in jail.

The top level of this pagoda gives a good view of the Bagan plain.

On the 3rd day we set out on foot to visit the pagodas on the way to and around the Bagan Old City.

This lovely little girl showed us the upper level of this temple. Unlike other children begging for money, she left us alone to enjoy the scenery.

She then show us the way down with her flashlight. We gave her some money to thank her.

We were barred from entering because it is a government building, not a temple or pagoda.
