Well, our very first government sanctioned curfew!

We were all sent home at 4:15pm today as the government has issued a curfew for all Dhaka residents in effect at 6pm.

As the uni students are revolting again, and there has been some quite serious clashes on campus, plus a little spilling out onto the streets, the interim (military) government is taking all precautions.

No one is allowed out of their house until further notice (most likely later tonight or very early tomorrow morning). I doubt we'll miss work tomorrow.

Ah, life, strange.

Everything is very normal, the drive home was uneventful, no one is in a panic, there is no mayhem on the streets (well, no more than the usual insane Dhaka traffic!!).

No one need be worried, it's just a precaution and we are NOT concerned in any way.

The school, and our Embassy, are aware of all evacuation policies and we have constant access to phones and internet even when the power goes down.

Looking out my window from where I am sitting, life seems just the same. Guess that will change in 30 minutes when 6 o'clock strikes!

Keep safe everyone, we know we will!

😊

p.s we get paid tomorrow!! our first "real' paycheck in almost 9 months - HELL YEAH!
