Late this afternoon we entered the park and began the fifteen minute drive back to the lodge. We were returning from leave which we had spent in Johannesburg. As we rounded a corner there were two game viewers stopped on the road.

We quickly stopped- as it was park etiquette and we couldn't get past the vehicle anyway. I looked around to see what they were looking at. There was the largest pack of wild dogs in the park. They were virtually on the road! Unfortunately we could not stay and watch them, because there were game viewers at the sighting. So we slowly drove past the wild dogs as they sat in the grass with their ears pricked up.

The wild dogs are very attentive and are listening to the sounds of the bush.

They seem to be resting and will use their energy later this evening for hunting.
