Travelling North by Motorcycle (South Africa to Tanzania)

My Brother and I are trying to plan a trip from Cape Town to Tanzania by Motorcycle. We are looking for information from anyone who has travelled in these areas with their own transportation. In particular the practicality of this in more remote areas, prices of bikes in South Africa vs. Tanzania, best routes, safety etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. We are currentyl in Arusha TZ right now and hope to fly to Cape Town in the next two to three weeks.
