Leaving Namibia was sad for me. Entering South Africa was coming back to almost familiar lifestyles and drizzly rain almost like England.

The end of our trip was spent enjoying two days in Stellenbosch sampling the wines and visiting the wineries. The wine tour was an opportunity to taste(?) at least five wines from each of four vinyards. YUM... HIC!

Then we arrived here in Cape Town. Time to chill out in a comfy hotel, watch TV, go shopping and write my travel blog!

Welcome to my travel diary. This travel blog was started when I took a year to travel round the world in 2005-6. It was a fabulous year spent in three continents: Africa, Asia and South America. I met many people and had many adventures. Over the following three to four years, I regularly travelled to the Rift Valley in Kenya as part of my PhD study.
